WAEC papers are structured into three types. Knowing the format helps you prepare and allocate time properly.
Multiple choice questions. Typically 50–60 questions to be answered in 50–60 minutes. Use elimination strategy and never leave blanks.

English Language is compulsory and many students fail it. Practise comprehension, essays, and summary writing daily — even 30 minutes helps.
Don't cram all subjects in the final week. Create a 6-month study plan that covers each subject 2–3 times before the exam.
Study in groups of 3–4 people. Quiz each other, teach topics you find easy, and clarify doubts together. Avoid groups that gossip.
Simulate exam conditions at home. Set a timer and practise completing papers within the official time limit to build speed and confidence.

Draw and label diagrams — they carry significant marks. Learn biological processes as stories, not definitions. Practise classification questions from past papers.
Memorise the periodic table groups, learn balancing equations, and practise all practical titration calculations. Theory questions often repeat verbatim from past papers.

You can re-sit as a private candidate in the next WAEC sitting (November/December). Your previous passes are not lost — you can combine results from different sittings. Contact WAEC directly for procedures.
